Anybody familiar with Protar models?

So my dad and I have some old Protar 1:12 scale F1 model kits sitting in our backroom, 4 are still in their original shrink-wrap and 1 isn't but all of its parts are in their respective original bags in the box. We're thinking of selling them in order to fund some upgrades to our autocross car, Ive done a little research on them but was wondering if anybody had some real knowledge about them. Thanks!

Most of those 1/12 car kits command a very pretty penny. They're probably worth $100-$150. I was looking into getting a kit for me to build (that relive something from childhood thing), but found the $35 kits of my youth are commanding over $150. I'd check out ebay and maybe a couple of plastic model kit sites to see wot's wot.

That's what I was seeing, however we do have a Renault RE23 and an Alfa Romeo 179, of which I found one of each on ebay, going for $300 and $700 respectively, I couldn't believe it.
